Of all the spaces in the home, the bedroom is the one where we really want serenity and comfort resides. After all, it’s where we lie our tired bodies down after a long, exhausting day at work – a domestic oasis for the soul.
I have prepared some tips to make the bedroom and serene and elegant, tips that I have been doing for many years now:
1. Keep Vibrant Color Out of the Bedroom
Vibrant colors such as yellow and orange are irritating to the eyes and instead of making your eyes rest, it may even add to more stress.
2. Introduce Light Tones into the Space
Navy blue, lime green and purple are just few of the light colors that can set a serene tone in the bedroom. Adding soft and light tones on the bedding, pillow, windows and wall paper is perfect! But make sure that the colors are applied in uniform so that it won’t look topsy-turvy.
3. Diversify Texture
Texture provides depth and dimention to a room space. When you put objects of different textures, an otherwise boring room becomes interestingly appealing.
4. Just One Style
Your bedroom could be classic, retro or modern looking but it should look as one cohesive space. All items and object should tell one story and evoke one feeling.
Finally, start with the larger objects in your bedroom – the bed, the chair and the chandelier – and then put in soft finishes and accessories that improve the overall look and compliment the larger items. So, design your bedroom and let it tell one story.
